Description

This set represents Irish warriors from the 4th to 11th centuries, a dynamic period of Dark Age warfare. Constantly in conflict, Irish warbands fought each other and raided across the sea against the Late Romans, Welsh, Picts and Romano-British. Later they faced Saxons and Vikings, while also settling in parts of Wales and Scotland. Irish warriors were typically lightly armed, using spears, javelins, swords and war clubs.

Warfare focused on fast raids, ambushes and skirmishing, though they could also form close order shield walls when needed. A small elite of armoured nobles and chieftains, equipped with mail and helmets, led these warbands. The Irish were known to use dogs in hunting and warfare, able to chase down enemies and drag a man from his horse or chariot.

Great set

Great set. The armored chieftains are very cool. And war hounds need I say more.

Really fun mix!

This is a great mix of dogs, commanders, and footsoldiers that's very adaptable both for historic wargames and fantasy forces.
My only complaint (aside from some mold lines) is that the crouching figure has a separate foot, and that's the only component on the sprue that doesn't have SOME kind of duplicate or alt, so if it snaps off in your box or goes flying when you trim the piece (and brother, does that foot yearn for freedom), you're crafting a teensy peg leg for that guy.
Still, strong recommend. Will very likely pick up another sprue in the future.

Hairy cooos!

These are the same sort of animals in their previous kit but all primitive Horned sheep, feral looking hogs and great furry cows!
The little kid that played with farm animal toys in me was very pleased!

Sengalese

This single sprue is excellent for extra heads and bits for your French army persuasion. This sprue comes in the box set so if you want more Sengalese this is the way to get them.
