I don’t think I have ever seen a more versatile multipart plastic miniature set. Many of the figures can be used for multiple time periods and genres, from Medieval to Renaissance to Fantasy to Sci-Fi, with very few modifications/kitbashing. I love it.
The rules really focus on the unique theater of operations and settings of the Spanish expeditions. While providing an easy to learn set of small to large skirmish rules, the motivations of blood /prestige for the Aztecs and gold/prestige for the Spanish. It's not just "You have 50 points of minis and so do I, so yeah..."
It plays fluidly, and allows for narrative games and campaigns. It compares favorably to say Ravenfeast or Frostgrave.
