Description

“THE REGULARS ARE OUT!”

The calls of Paul Revere, William Dawes, Samuel Prescott, and Sybil Ludington on the night of April 18, 1775 set the stage for a dramatic confrontation between the American colonists and Redcoats. British Army soldiers and Royal Navy marines had been sent to Concord to seize colonial military supplies and arrest two of their leaders: Samual Adams and John Hancock. Alerted by the riders, militia from all over New England who had been gathering around Boston for just this type of provocation, hurried to meet the British column. The resulting battle lasted for over 12 hours as the soldiers retreated toward Boston and the colonists hounded and harassed them.

Two months later on June 17th, British forces moved to dislodge the militia from a hastily dug redoubt on Breed’s Hill in nearby Charlestown across Boston Harbor. Almost 5000 troops engaged in a bloody confrontation until a third British assault put the Americans into retreat. Erroneously called “The Battle of Bunker Hill” after a taller hill nearby, it shattered British assumptions that the American militia could never hold their own against professional British troops.

This hard plastic box set includes enough parts to build 30 28mm Minutemen. A mix of musket types reflects the diverse arms of the militia and a variety of heads represents the many types of men who took part in these battles.

Models require assembly and painting. Bases are not included.

Good kit

Good kit. Some arms don’t sit on the shoulders right, but this can be fixed with modeling puddy.

Great Minutemen!

The miniatures were detailed and very well done. Great shipping &response from Spruedude - being able to get single sprues for kitbashing or to test out a new product is fantastic.

Very solid, but limited bits

First off, the sprue arrived totally safe and sound, probs to the sprue dude. This sprue is easy to work with, and the poses are fun and dynamic, but unfortunately there’s very little bits and accessories. I imagine that if you bought a full box the models would get really same real fast. Not really a concern if you buy a single frame like me, but keep it in mind if you buy multiples

Great for terrain too

Obviously great for miniatures, but they are also fantastic for adding character to terrain. Get a couple of sprues for multiple uses.

Assemble the levy

Great levy sprue. Can make bow men, assorted peasant rabble, with two handed improvised weapons, slings, or spearman if you pick up a long weapons sprue. Great details and head selection.

A fine kit, by Set!

Incredible kit. The designs are great Egyptians—classic, shirtless, chiseled jawline Prince of Egypt style Egyptians. One of the heads appears to be modeled after the Sphinx (with nose of course).

Like most Wargames Atlantic sets, you’ll need a good xacto knife because the necks are too long and some spear hands are at weird angles. Unless you want to make some Ancient Aliens with long necks, which is an option offered here.

I combined these with one of Wargames Atlantic’s Bronze Age chariot (naturally) and you can easily create a driver from the parts in here. I am also combining some of these with heads and weapons from Wargames Atlantic’s Persians and Late Romans and some of Victrix’ Greeks to create enemies of Egypt—my enemy of choice are desert raiders (Shasu for real Bronze Age-heads). This kit also offers a wide selection of Bronze Age helmets—Egyptians didn’t use these, but their neighbors certainly did.

Also goes without saying but Im saying it anyways, if you’re doing anything Conan-related, these guys are Stygians.

I really love how dynamic these poses are (both the knights and the horses) and how many equipment

I really love how dynamic these poses are (both the knights and the horses) and how many equipment options are included. I paired these with the Wargames Atlantic cavalry bases (conveniently also coming in multiples of 6) and they look great.

Hairy cooos!

These are the same sort of animals in their previous kit but all primitive Horned sheep, feral looking hogs and great furry cows!
The little kid that played with farm animal toys in me was very pleased!

Great concept

Haven't had a chance to play yet, but I love the rules and overall concept. A tabletop game that doesn't require hoards of mechanical monsters
